DevOps is a phrase that has been around for over a decade now, and yet still the question 'What Is DevOps' is frequently asked.

And when someone attempts to answer that question the picture of the DevOps Mobius Strip is inevitably displayed with single words like 'test' and 'monitor' seemingly and seamlessly sliding into one another.

But these single word phrases are a nebulous understatement. How do we 'Monitor'? How do we 'Test'? Essentially how do we 'DevOps', and how do we know we are doing it right?

And as a professional working across the Data Platform there are a series of challenges unique to us that we cannot simply look to how applications are tested and monitored, mainly because of all the pesky data.
